How Grnd came to be
Jenn LeBlanc-Smith is the founder of GRND, a performance-based strength and conditioning brand built around resilience, confidence, and long-term athletic development. A former high-level soccer athlete and experienced head trainer with several years of coaching experience, Jenn has dedicated her career to helping athletes of all ages and levels become stronger, faster, more confident, and more resilient—both physically and mentally.
As a mom, entrepreneur, and cancer survivor, Jenn’s approach to coaching goes far beyond performance alone. Her experiences have shaped a philosophy rooted in balance, longevity, quality of life, and sustainable athletic development. She believes training should build people up—not just as athletes, but as confident, capable individuals in every stage of life.
Why Grnd
Through GRND, Jenn works with youth athletes, teams, and adults across a variety of sports, focusing on strength and conditioning, speed, movement quality, injury prevention, and overall athletic performance. Drawing from her own background as an athlete, she understands firsthand how important proper coaching, encouragement, and opportunity are during the developmental years—especially for young athletes learning to build confidence in themselves and their abilities.
Known for creating an environment that is both challenging and supportive, Jenn has become a trusted leader in athlete development across Nova Scotia through her work with soccer and hockey athletes. Whether working with competitive athletes, developing youth players, or adults looking to improve their health and performance, her goal remains the same: helping people move well, train with purpose, and build strength that lasts far beyond the gym or the game.
